Queso Diego September Meeting Announcement

We have a cheesy sweet surprise for next week’s meeting. “Dessert Cheese” anyone? Yes that’s right, Ed will be presenting this delicious topic along with 6 of our members who are preparing special dessert cheese recipes for all to share. You won’t want to miss this one.

We will enjoy our potluck and socializing prior to the meeting. Since we are serving desserts as a topic, consider bringing a non-dessert dish for the potluck.

Members are encouraged to bring homemade brews and cheese. If you do bring something for the club to enjoy, please provide everyone with a short description about it prior to the commencement of the potluck.

Once again, board elections are in November, so if anyone is interested in serving on the board let us know. The club has specific needs for Treasurer and Education.

Please remember to bring a chair, looking forward to seeing you!

“Celebration of Cakes Made from Cheese”

Greetings Queso Diego,

To kick off our celebration of cakes made from cheese, we are asking guests to share a cheesecake during the potluck portion of the meeting. Remember, cheesecakes can be sweet or savory so maybe we can make this a meal. Of course, we wouldn’t want to eat only cheesecake for our meal, would we? So, if you don’t want to make a cheesecake, please feel free to contribute a dish to round out our meal.

Following the potluck, at 7 PM will proceed with the usual club business followed by a presentation on “Cheese Celebration Cakes” by Curt Wittenberg. These are cakes that are actually constructed from cheese. We will discuss design considerations, decoration ideas, serving and, somehow, we will work in opportunities to taste more cheese. And, of course, members who bring cheesecakes will also have an opportunity to talk about their contribution.

Regarding the noise:
I’m sure everyone is aware that the back room can be a bit noisy. They have so much beer to can that they’ve been running 24/7. Peter is aware of the noise.
They are in the process of getting a faster canning line that will be installed a little further away. This should hopefully be done within the next couple of months.
Thanks for putting up with this but it will get better.

Queso Diego June Meeting Announcement

Join us for the sweet side of delicious cheese! The June meeting of Queso Diego will feature desserts made with various cheeses. We encourage all members to get creative and bring a variety of after dinner winners for some soul-satisfying yum!

Attendees are encouraged to make unique and creative cheese-based dessert creations to share. If possible, try to have them pre-portioned or pre-cut to facilitate sharing. Also consider bringing beverages to go with the desserts we will be sampling. The meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Tues, June 17th at City Farmers Nursery (http://www.cityfarmersnursery.com).

Nate’s Garden Grill on the grounds of City Farmers Nursery is now open, so consider stopping by to grab a beer before or after the meeting. They have a great menu of fresh, local food and an extensive draft beer list. As a reminder, please park in the overflow parking or on the street to allow room for Nate’s customer parking.
